Soft dark blue gabardine fabric with a high 98% cotton content and 2% lycra, tightly woven with a high thread count. Gabardine is a durable, tightly woven fabric with small raised diagonal ribs on the face and a smooth back. The addition of lycra adds just a touch of stretch on the diagonal. It adds comfort to skirts, dresses, pants, jackets, uniforms, and more. It is a hard-wearing fabric designed for long-term use. The color makes it perfect for dress pants, structured skirts, or a variety of jacket types. The material has a soft hand that is nice against the skin. Either side of the fabric can be used. The fabric has enough variation in the black to add interest to the material. Orders are cut in continuous yardage from the bolt. This means if you order 3 yards, we will cut one piece of fabric that is 3 yards long. It is of medium weight at 8 oz/yard. Cotton has many advantages, such as its ability to control moisture, insulate, and provide comfort. It is also hypoallergenic and is a durable fabric. Cotton has been historically used in material for the last 200 years. Recommended cleaning is using a washing machine using cold water, a gentle cycle, and a mild detergent.
